Nice app
I’ve installed Duplicate Manager Pro and I like it. Easy and simple to use.
I used other apps to remove duplicates. I liked this here because: - I can decide the kind of search, to search checksum instead of name allows me to find that typical fotos which have been changed of name, but the original (like IMG_DSC_19349) persists. Or films, or mp3s, or docs. This is one of the big pros of this app, and makes it great to clean the media library, where most of this big files live - is as usefull that it saves the scan, both the path (I often scan the same external disc) and the process (so I can resume a real big scan) - It is really litttle but fast. Even has a transparent sandboxing. Congrats, a very well planned app.
Very good! Does automatically in minutes what it would take hours to do the usual way! It’s amazing how many copies of the same files you can have on a hard drive and backups

I just started using Duplicate Manager Pro program, and so far it seems to be working very well. It scan’s quickly and displays information clearly. So far it seems to do what the advertising says it will.

This is a fairly good tool, especially for it’s $0.99 price, but not nearly as robust as I need it to be. Like virtually all other OS X tools for deduping, this fails to offer sufficient selection criteria for determining which duplicates should be removed. It’s auto-select, while great for novice users, would NEVER be used by a serious user because the entire purpose of deduping is to keep the files YOU want to keep and get rid of the others. Auto-select seems quite indiscriminate in it’s selection process. I would expect a de-duplication tool would group duplicate files and then allow me to select in each group based on path length, filename length, file size, age, text string and then allow me to invert my selections, protect certain folders (so they’re never deleted), etc. Duplicate Cleaner Pro for Windows is one of the better tools… wish they offered a Mac version! I’d pay $30 for a de-duping tool that was as robust this!
I have been using this app for a few months. It is easy to use and faster than some other tools I’ve used. I like the interface, especially how it presents the results of the scan. You can actually scroll down the list and there’s a window for content preview. But, there are duplicates that it does not find. I have encountered movies files (MP4, WMV, etc) that exist in different folders, have different names, but are otherwise identical (hash is identical) and they do not show up in the results. It’s strange because it does find duplicates, it just seems to miss occasional files. And, I’ve noticed that the files it misses, it always misses. It’s not like you can run the scan again and it will find it. I’ve looked at the files it misses and can’t make heads or tails of why it misses that particular file. I didn’t even know it missed files until I was seaching for a file and found it in two locations. Identical files that were not discovered. So, the problem is that I really don’t know how many duplicates are left on my Mac unless I’m willing to manually do some exhaustive process. In all fairness, I have to note that I was using another tool, Find Duplicate Files, that also missed these same duplicate pairs. Just can’t figure it out why it happens and I’m sure that I’ve got Gigs of space that should otherwise be reclaimed.
I have had my 2013 iMac for around 9 months at the time of installing this. I use my mac for video,audio, and picture productions. This program after doing a full scan found over 250gb of duplicate files from me moving things around and forgetting to delete the old locations. It’s auto sort feature picked the best logical place to keep one version of the file and deletes the rest. Simple UI, simple functions, scan pick the one you want and then hit remove.
These guys make Sync Pro and it’s truly a brilliant tool. It’s unsurprising then that they appear to have made a similarly brilliant Duplicates toolset. Very clean and very easy to use… first impressions I know, but love it!
Very Simple to use
I helped find 20gb of duplicate files. It was a piece of cake to use.
This is the single most useful duplicate manager I have ever used! No messing around with not being sure if the duplicates are real or not. It nailed everything! I gained back gigs and gigs of space! I wish I would have found this program sooner. I also use your other software VPN Configurator, VPN Client Configurator and VPN Agent. What a breeze it was to set up a VPN server for 30 users. ZERO hassles… it just works. Great job GreenWorld Software
This is a truly great product for finding and deleting duplicate files. This is especially true with music files that have duplications all over your hard drive. I also found a lot of duplications on setup files. I found a lot of duplicates in my backups. I saved a tremendous amount of disk space thanks to this product.
It scans the directories quickly, presents the information clearly, and seems to do exactly as advertised. Ill update as I get more experience with it, but at first pass, seems to be a very good dupe remover for the price.

This is a powerful tool - wtih great power...
I love this program. I had a hard drive fail. But I had versons of most of its contents on multiple other drives. I've put them onto a NAS. And this program is amazing at finding all the duplicates. I've used it before, and it's fantastic. It's amazing. BUT... it's a bit more technical. It takes a bit of learning to get it to do what you want.
Useful tool
I find the Duplicate Manager Pro a useful tool for cleaning up my file system. I have an external SSD for my home directory, and a Mac Mini NAS for backups and long term file storage. Over the years I have upgraded Macs and noticed that the upgrades and drive updates have resulted accidential duplicate files resulting in loss of space. Duplicate Manager Pro helps me clean up my drives and free up lots of space. Great tool, highly recommended.
Doesn't work for me.
This last attempt to get ANYTHING out of this app started with a scan of an atached drive. 2 days later the app was still scanning the drive. On the 3rd day I clicked the "show result" and I get the spinning rainbow. 30 minutes after a force and a reboot all results are gone. I can't get that time back and I still need to scan that drive. Less than useless for me.
Can't Open Application - Error #002
The application was working great but when I attempted to open today, I receive error #002 and the application won't open. Is there an update needed to fix this?
It saved me 25GB of space.
I had it search the entire drive. It took hours. The process was easy. Great App.

Great except...
Says it will "auto deletes" one of the duplicutes -this function does NOT work -so if it finds hundreds or thousands of duplicates -prepare to duplicate each one by hand.
The Best Duplicate File Finder to 8-10-22
I have bought and tried and used for five different other apps and none of them are as good as this app. It is very simple, not fancy, but it does exactly what you wanted to do. It finds all the duplicates it shows them to you if you want to delete duplicate buy duplicate or if you trusted enough it will simply delete all the duplicates at one time if you ask it to. I have come to trust it and that's what I do and it just works very very well.
A Week Ago, I Would Have Given It 5 Stars...
I purchased the Pro version after using the free for a day and I was very impressed at how quickly it foiund duplicates for me to eradicate. Suddenly, A week later I am dragging and dropping folders into the App which I KNOW have duplicates in them, but for some reason, the App can't find them. I KNOW there are dupes in this one folder, b/c I set view options to Size and low and behold, every duplicate is next to each other. But, alas, the app has somehow become dumber and refuses to recognize these files as dupes. They are basically the exactl same file and size, just with a different name. So, Idk what happened. I've tried setting the minimum file size to 1 MB, I tried changing it from checksum to checksum name....Nothing works. Very disappointing, especially since it was working so well up until recently.

Got a bunch of dupes with (1), (2) in file name. This is simple but this program wont find them USELESS
Very handy app with plenty of features!
I am one who tends to organize my data into multiple hard drive partitions over more than one drive. I needed something to clean up the mess. This is great!
Excellent Product
If you want to rid yourself of duplacate photo files, which is easy to do with todays digital camers, look no further. Duplicate Mananger Pro is just what you have been waitng for, it's fast and very easy to use. So, if you want to pare down your hundreds of photos, I woud give this a try today. Stay safe.

they say this is easy for beginners... i have 6000 pictures an i know there tons of duplicates ... it only found 12 this was my only reason for trying this one and i am hesitant to actually bu any app, $4.99 is not ok if i cant get any help or walk through directions. not happy and will dispute charges if i get anything on my apple bill. it does not do anything at all.

There's always that balance between power and easy to use, and this gets it. It did what it said it would do, and did it quickly and efficiently. I'm quite pleased!
Excellent program
I was really impressed with the speed and accuracy of the duplicate file finder. I was able to discard several duplicates freeing up some needed space on my hard drive. Thanks.
Fast, effective and easy to use
I am amazed how well this works, especially for the price. I think of myself as being very organized, but just in less than 5 minutes, doing some targeted scans, I freed up over 20 GB. I will definitely be using this in the future on a regular basis.
Excellent utility
Duplicate Manager Pro has become one of my favorite utilities. The program does what it"s supposed to and more. I would recommend this product to anyone that is serious about file administration.
So many dupes
I have folders full of photos from manual copying to folders. I was afraid to clean it up because it would take so long. This was so nice to use. Nice service.
Easily free up space on your hard drive!
In less than an hour, I got mre than 10GB back on a 500GB drive. With iCloud I had lots of files duplicated - several times. Easy to use. Scans really fast.
Useful and quite easy to use
I am amazed how many duplicated I have on my computer, and the program is fast and relaible in finding these. There are several options to remove the duplicates, either one by one or in bulk. To navigate within the program could be a little more intuitive (I have not figures out yet how to do a new scan without quitting and restarting the program), but other than that it does what it advertizes well. The only thing I see that is problematic (and I do not see a solution to this) is that there are sometimes good reasons to keep duplicate files in different locations, and obviously, using the auto remove option is in such cases something you do not want to use.
Finds duplicates you never knew you had
I always thought I was pretty careful not to create a lot of useless duplicates. I'll have to rethink that, After using Macs for about 25 years, here and there unintentional duplicates have been created. I guess that's not surprising, with hundreds of thousands of files on my primary hard drive alone. Imagine my surprise. Over 250 GB. Now that's read savings. It can take a long time to do the main hard disk and even longer to be sure you're keeping what you w#ant, but the space savings are worth it.
Easy and efficient
I have been using Duplicate Manager Pro for a while and it has been helping me to find duplicates and save space on my different storage locations. Simple and easy to use. It really makes easier to manage files and clean duplications.
Very good search method
This app found a folder of items that I had mistakenly duplicated, and helped remove over 1 GB of data stored for nothing. Works for me!
It just works
the best part is merging file into one backups without duplicateing files.
So surprised to see how many duplicates I had.
After running this app I found that I had over 18 GB of duplicates on my hard drive. Not an inconsequential number. Think of all the hard drive space this app will save you. Be sure to review the found apps so that you don't delete any you have saved twice purposely. Great app for the money.

Good tool. Gets the job done.
The application UI is a little bit outdated but not too hard to understand. The functionality is well designed and fixed my particular issue. I am consolidating manual backups I have created over the years, so there are lots of file duplicates in each backup. This tool allowed me to merge all backups into one by removing duplicates.

Only Missing 1 feature but has the best feature
So lets start with the best It Lets you have a trial, It scans 2 folders which means you can remove duplicates before you merge them but the one feature it has that the others do not is you can prioritize 1 folder to keep files in. This app does exactly what it claims, I use it to merge folders the smart way, by removing dupicates before you put them together. THE FAULTS IT does not check for empty folders so not sure it has removed the folders left behind My biggest gripe tried the trial scanned 26,000 files it worked great found 12,000 Duplicates, it told me it could only delete one at a time unless I upgrade to pro, I paid my money happily, but the pro is a different app so I had to scan all my files again, i think this should give a warning or one should pick up from the other.
Questionable????
I purchased this app a few days ago and it had problems on the very first scan. An email was sent to the developer regarding the issue (did not remove duplicate files/photos and subsequent scans showed the same amount of duplicates) and the reply I received was useless. This developer assumed that I was a programer and spoke in technical terms that were meaningless. My reply to him has not been answered. Still does not work correctly. My advice; DON’T BUY THIS APP!
Good Stuff and easy to use
I used to program to identify duplicates fo a total of 2g. It did a great job finding them. Being able to remove some files and then go back and review the remaining duplicates would be a big help. Duplicate finder found and help me delete 92 GB yes 92GB of duplicate photographsand old movie files as well. I couldn’t even begin this project without this app. Super easy to use. The Compare and Sync by same company helped me resolve the impossible. I wanted to sync MyBook connected to my laptop with iCloud, too.Great apps!
Useful but Has Issues
I used to program to identify duplicates in 250k files. It did a great job finding them although, as you can imagine, it took a while. Perhaps the issue I am going to identify is already resolved and/or I missed it in the screenshots on their website. However, if I look at the results of the scan of all those 250k files and allow it to auto pick one out of the duplicates to be saved and then just delete, for example, jpg files, I cannot go back from the Remove screen to the original scan and decide which files I want removed next. There doesn’t appear to be a way to either do that with a Back button or with a Save of the scan-to-date. So what happens is that the now 248k of files all have to be re-scanned. Again, given the size, this is a time consuming process. On the pull-down menu there is a Save and Save As item, but I could not find a way to select it and save the Scan in its current form. I do a lot of photography and Photoshop, so in the process multiples are created and this program would be good for cleaning up the mess if that simple issue of saving a scan could be addressed. All of that said, there may be a way to do this and I just missed it on their website. I would be more than happy to be corrected and change the rating. I have another 30tb of drives to scan, so being able to remove some files and then go back and review the remaining duplicates would be a big help.
Great app!
Duplicate finder found and help me delete 92 GB yes 92GB of duplicate photographs. No wonder I couldn’t even begin this project without this app. Super easy to use. The Compare and Sync by same company helped me resolve the impossible. I wanted to sync MyBook connected to my laptop with MyCloud that is on my network. According to Western Digital the only way to sync was to connect MyBook with MyCloud physically. I asked Greenworld Soft if their program would work…..and it did. Also very intuitive and I have all my docs and pics on my own personal cloud versus the actual cloud. Highly recommended. Both of the apps that I have tried.
